Serves customers by selling products; meeting customer needs, and company expectations. New York Sales territory will include greater Albany, West to Syracuse, North to Plattsburgh, and South to lower New York.

Job Summary:

Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts; adjusts content of sales presentations; focuses sales efforts; submits orders; keeps management informed; monitors competition; recommends changes in products, service, and policy; resolves customer complaints; maintains professional and technical knowledge; provides historical records; contributes to team effort. Duties:

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to separate yourself from the competition in a highly competitive market and be willing to prospect and be a strong closer.
  • Ability to develop rapport with client management and maintain strong working relationships. Successfully manages customer expectations.
  • Should have excellent phone skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • Closes the sale by addressing customer concerns, demonstrating empathy, and consistently moving the customer towards commitment.
  • Develops new account prospects through networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Candidate must have a proven history of multilevel selling on all size companies. Experience within our industry not required but a plus.
  • Experience selling products and services to major accounts in a designated region.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Chemical Industry experience preferred.
