POSITION SUMMARY
 
This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters for multiple clients. Responsible for overseeing, managing & leading the ideation, sourcing, ordering & production of promotional products (through ASI, semi-custom or custom) for 2 designated accounts/clients (Spirits and Consumer Packaged Goods) by performing the following duties personally or through employees that are either directly supervised/managed or functionally supervised by this position.
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in an Account Executive role
  • 4+ years of experience working in the ASI/Promotional Product Industry
  • Project Management Experience from ideation to delivery
 
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
  • Customer Service and sales experience in a client-based setting
  • Experience with ESP website sourcing, and related software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with promotional products on a distributor level
  • General Accounting Knowledge (invoicing, general billing, etc.)
  • Experience with procurement- Understanding of UL Testing & Inspection Process
  • Proven ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment
  • Ability to work autonomously, relying on and using pre-established guidelines and instructions to perform the functions of the job
  • Strong team player- able to work autonomously while retaining team membership and mentality
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete project management from start to finish- review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Support clients with their ASI promotional product needs- provide ideas and write-ups to client based on sourced products.
  • Communicate with clients regarding project progress- effectively address any client questions or concerns.
  • Source promotional and/or premium products using online sources (ESP, vendor websites), vendor contacts, retail and/or 3rd party decorators and overseas vendors/contacts.
  • Work with Overseas Suppliers during premium product sourcing- call suppliers/vendors to confirm pricing, production schedule, and project specifications.
  • Create vendor quotes in SharePoint and/or other client software to send to client.
  • Oversee production scheduling, ordering, complete project management and customer service relating to promotional products.
  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of UL Safety Testing & Inspection to ensure project progresses on schedule and within USA Standards & procedures.
  • Collaborate with Surge Logistics team to coordinate and ensure project delivers on schedule and within prescribed budgets.
  • Attend internal and external Client Status Conference Calls- updating the client and internal teams appropriately and answering emails to facilitate continuous communication.
  • Assemble documentation for issues that arise- develop and recommend a plan to correct and/or handle the issue(s). Assist with related documentation for subordinates’ jobs/projects.
  • Compile and complete revenue reporting- review and advise on revenue discrepancies on quarterly reports from accounting.
  • Meet with suppliers regarding new products, current product lines, and potential ideas for specific client programs.
  • Direct, advise, and collaborate with internal team members, vendor(s), and art team to create ideation/concept decks for client.
  • Direct, advise, and collaborate with the client, art team, and vendor(s) for initial JPGs/concepts, proofs, and prototypes.
  • Train internal team members and external client new/transitioning employees ( on new systems, software, processes, etc.).
  • Special projects as assigned- potential projects could include trade shows (attending and/or displaying) and other knowledge-enhancing projects
  • Assist with overflow from other accounts as needed.
 
 
TRAVEL
 
Travel to client/vendor sites and/or tradeshows may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is responsible for managing Account Executives in the Chicago office.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Note: Due to the nature of the position and client demand- working a flexible schedule may be needed. This may include long hours, nights, weekends etc.
