Purpose of Position:

Perform general administrative functions for the Contracting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Credentialing Manager with administrative functions.
  2. Assure that all new provider applications are data entered within three business days.
  3. Update information in database for existing providers.
  4. Create mail merge letters and coordinate mass distributions with the mail room.
  5. Create and maintain paper files.
  6. Prepare packages and make copies for Credentialing Committee.
  7. Assist the Credentialing staff by performing other clerical functions (scheduling of Credentialing Committee meetings, make phone calls to providers, etc) as needed.
  8. Responsible for updating and obtaining expiring documents (Board Certification, Malpractice Insurance, NYS License and DEA Certificate).
  9. Responsible for running monthly reports (After Hours List, Expiring Documents Report and HIV Primary Care Provider Application Report).
  10. Assist with recredentialing process.
  11. Assist Credentialing Coordinator with conducting Delegation Audits.
  12. Participate on interdepartmental sub-workgroups.
  13. Assist Credentialing Coordinators with data entry in the credentialing database.
  14. Any other duties as needed.


  • A Master's degree in Arts or Science with a Specialization in hospital administration, health care administration, administrative medicine or in public health when conferred for a program in hospital administration, from an approved college or university; or a Baccalaureate degree; and
  • One (1) year of administrative experience and background; or,
  • An equivalent combination of training, education and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
  • General knowledge of policies and program utilized in the operation of health care facility, ability to assimilate and analyze data, to recommend action based on analytical findings, and to assist in the solution of complex problems in health care administration and management.
