Job description

Acquisitions Associate with two to four years of experience in real estate development, banking, investing, consulting, or asset management. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running in areas such as underwriting new transactions, capital markets executions, managing relationships with investment sales firms and providing asset management support and execution with development/redevelopment projects already underway. The firm’s primary geographic focus isthe major Texas cities of Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston & San Antonio.

Below are some of the primary responsibilities of the Associate:

• Prepare quantitative analysis including operating models, cash flow projections, budgets, new acquisition underwritings, etc.

• Conducting market research and analyzing market data

• Conduct due diligence for potential investments

• Conduct hold-sell and refinancing analyses

• Preparing investment committee memos, presentations, and other reports

• Effectively prepare, communicate and present underwriting and analysis to senior management, capital partners and lenders

• Communicate with 3rd party Lenders, Brokers, Equity Partners, attorneys, tax experts, accountants and more, to participate and/or lead both broad and detail level discussions on transactions

• Review monthly operating/financial performance, variance analysis and operating/capital project status

• Assist in special assignments as needed

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree. MBA highly desirable

• two to four years of related experience

• Strong analytical/modeling skills, including JV/partnership, waterfall modeling & sensitivity/scenario analysis

• Understanding of valuation and debt (cap rates, DCF analysis, capital structure, financing, etc.)

• Experience with multifamily assets preferred

• Excellent Excel skills

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take initiative

• Strong work ethic, integrity and ability to thrive in an unstructured environment

• Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with internal departments, outside consultants, and external market participants

• Professional appearance and demeanor
