Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. The Nutrition and Food Services department provides good-tasting, attractive meals designed to meet the nutritional needs of our patients, staff and visitors. The meals are prepared and served by staff trained in quantity food production, food safety and sanitation. The clinical staff of registered, licensed dietitians assess the nutritional needs of each patient to ensure adequate nutrients are provided to meet individual requirements for healing and to provide education to attain and maintain good health. The dietitians are supported by a group of diet technicians who assist patients with menu selection, nutritional supplements and between meal snacks as prescribed to optimize health.

Role Purpose
Performs a variety of food production activities such as pre-preparation, preparation of hot and cold foods, and specialty coffees/beverages for customers. Practices proper safety and sanitation techniques in accordance with policy and regulations. Provides excellent customer service. Responsible for handling all types of payment transactions.
Responsibilities
+ Performs customer sales transactions by maintaining accuracy, timeliness and following department cash-handling policies and procedures.
+ Prepares food items as assigned according to standardized recipes, food preparation guidelines and sanitation standards.
+ Consistently checks food for quality and correct temperature.
+ Maintains cost control and minimizes waste when preparing food.
+ Serves customers in a professional and friendly manner, and follows food safety and portion guidelines.
