Responsibilities

Greets customers and provide excellent customer service skills

Round with customers throughout shop and give excellent sales assistance

Develop displays as assigned and maintains the shop in a neat and orderly fashion.

Price and mark merchandise following established pricing guidelines

Resolves customer complaints in accordance with shop policy

Responsible for opening and closing shop as scheduled.

Ensure funds and shop are secure at closing

Balances cash and credit card receipts with register and prepares deposit as requested

Assist with moving inventory from store rooms to shop

Oversee the activities and training of shop volunteers

Answer telephones and assist callers as needed

Watch and fill online website orders as they come in

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Qualification/Skills

This is a physical job. Applicants must be able to stand and be on their feet for all or most of their shift.

Must be able to move, lift and carry medium weight materials and push carts to/from storeroom and shop

Retail or customer experience desirable

Good phone and communication skills necessary

Requires the ability to make correct change (currency and coin) and keep accurate records

Ability to operate a cash register and other business machines

Ability to problem solve and respond to various situations as the person in this position is often working alone

Must be able to understand directions, and communicate if clarification is needed.

Must be able to communicate and respond to customer inquiries

Must have some knowledge of computers; Word/Outlook

Ability to work well with others and direct/train volunteers

Work Schedule

This position is alternate Wednesdays 11:30a-7:30pm. Must also be available to pick up additional shifts as needed for co-workers to fill in for vacation and PTO. (May include some weekend hours) Day/Eve/Wknd
