Job description

A Customer Service Representative (CSR) is often the customer’s first point of contact with RDS. As such, he/she plays a critical role in turning interactions with customers into lasting profitable relationships. To deliver an outstanding quality of service to RDS’s clients, a CSR must embody the values of professionalism and courtesy. Clarity in oral communication, multitasking, and familiarity with or willingness to learn client management databases and software are essential technical requirements for this role. The CSR is skillful at assessing and anticipating customers’ needs and must be resourceful enough to cater to those needs.

Primary Accountabilities and Functions:

  • Answer and effectively manage incoming calls.

  • Receive, input and process orders from clients including processing of payment information. Verify that orders are ready for dispatching.

  • Provide clients with accurate information regarding RDS’s services, policies and offerings and assist clients to make informed decisions.

  • Assess customers’ needs and priorities by engaging customers and actively listening to them.

  • Address customers’ complaints, issues and concerns and offer solutions consistent with company policies.

  • Follow up with any outstanding issues and communicate with customers via email, phone, fax, letter and specialized computer programs.

  •  Keep a record of important interactions with customers for future references.

  • Track orders for clients when such service is needed.

  • To the best of his/her abilities, generate sales leads and rely potential business to supervisor and/or sales team for closure.

  • Build trust and sustainable relationships with customers through open interaction and courtesy.

    Required Education, Experience and Technical Skills

  • A high school diploma is a must. An Associate degree or a Bachelor’s are preferred.

  • Prior customer service experience.

  • Strong oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

  • Ability to multitask in order to maintain a productive conversation with a client while entering data into system or database.
