Job Description Successful candidate will participate in a project team performing stream analysis and flood management projects that include hydrologic & hydraulic model review and modeling, report development, map development and review, and data analysis. Candidate should work well in a team setting and be able to provide support to the team in the areas of research, data input, model development, and report writing.General Responsibilities may include:• Review Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) case requests for both riverine and coastal sources to determine if they meet all FEMA criteria justifying a change to published flood hazard data;• Review hydrologic and hydraulic models for technical accuracy;• Verify compliance with NFIP standards and FEMA Guidelines and Specifications;• Oversight and administration of appeal process and compliance period;• Preparation of all appropriate FEMA documentation and correspondence;• Verbal and written communication skills will be utilized daily to interact directly with the client (FEMA) and LOMR requesters.• Assist in the creation of final mapping products through strong skills in ArcGIS and AutoCAD.• Resolution of mapping issues related to Letters of Map Change;• QA/QC of LOMR case determinations for compliance with FEMA requirements and standards• Oversight and guidance of third party LOMR preparations• Provide training in LOMR review and handling Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Water Resources, Environmental, or Civil Engineering required. Registration as an Engineer-in-Training, or ability to obtain an EIT within 18 months of hire required. GIS/database experience is beneficial. Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD) expected. Candidate must have excellent writing and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with experience in stream flood elevation analysis and FEMA mapping and modeling are preferred.
