We are currently seeking a PLM/PDM Consultant (Applications Engineer) to join our InFlow PDM Consultants in Buffalo Grove, IL .

Position Overview: Responsible for the design, development, implementation, training and support of Product Data Management (PDM) systems and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, primarily SolidWorks Enterprise PDM, Enovia V5 SmarTeam and Enovia V6. In addition, responsibilities include conducting software presentations with the sales team in a pre-sales environment.

Responsibilities:

Implementation and Training

  • Manage multi-stage projects from start to completion. Responsible for the overall design, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects.
  • Provide architectural guidance during a PLM deployment interfacing with Engineering, Marketing, Quality, IT, Manufacturing and Management.
  • Develop functional specifications for PLM deployments.
  • Lead PLM specification workshops.
  • Configure systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct training ranging from introductory material through high end, advanced enterprise-wide data management systems for systems administrators and end users.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration and system issues.
  • Document and follow up with customer issues to complete resolution.

  • Provide PLM product customer support.
  • Customer communication via our blog on common issues in the use of our products.

Pre-Sales Support

  • Deliver demonstrations, presentations, specification scope workshops and training comfortably to anyone in a company hierarchy from an engineer to the CEO or business owner.
  • Develop and present custom demonstrations to satisfy specific customer requests.
  • Address objections; conduct product demonstrations and product implementations involving SolidWorks Enterprise PDM, Enovia SmarTeam, and/or Enovia V6.

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or technology related field (4 year degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience with PLM software deployment.
  • Must possess a unique blend of being polished with customers and technical savvy; an out of the box thinker, and the drive to engage all stakeholders.
  • Highly entrepreneurial with a strong passion, urgency, energy, dedication, and an unrelenting drive to succeed and win.
  • Ability to understand requirements/processes and management expertise for large scale PLM design and deployment.
  • Provide deep PLM technical and architecture guidance to project teams in support of solution design and development.
  • Demonstrated ability with project management skills, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience in Engineering and Product Development processes and environments.
  • Experience administering databases or client/server applications.
  • Ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing environments and show attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills. Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff members. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to mentor other team members.
  • Working knowledge of Windows environment and Microsoft Office products.
  • Subject matter expert in PLM or PDM applications, Enovia V6, Enovia SmarTeam V5, SolidWorks Enterprise PDM preferred.
  • SolidWorks Certified Enterprise PDM Professional certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD applications, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL Server.
  • 30% travel required
