Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for conducting risk-based, loss-control focused, in-service inspections of boilers and pressure vessels. This is a resident position that is located in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. The position would be responsible for jurisdictional inspections at FM Global clients in Ohio and may involve approximately 15-20% travel inside and outside that area. The inspections are conducted in accordance with applicable jurisdictional laws and regulations, The National Board Inspection Code, the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and FM Global procedures and standards.

Candidates will be considered for Jurisdictional Consultant I or II based on experience.

Qualifications:

Education: Depending on an individual's experience and other factors, the consultant will have a BS in Engineering, an associate degree from a 2-year technical school, or a high school diploma. The individual must have a National Board (NB) In-service Commission. Additional NB commissions or endorsements, and certificates of competency in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, or New York are a plus.

Experience: The essential experience for this position is that required by the current National Board rules for commissioned inspectors in order to acquire the in-service NB commission. Experience in general boiler and pressure vessel construction, maintenance, and inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment, understanding of maintenance management systems and good understanding of NDE methods and results are vital. Experience with Jurisdiction Online software is a plus!


Qualifications:

  • Strong overall technical knowledge in the boiler and pressure vessel construction and inspection industry.

  • Problem solving skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience in Risk Control and Loss Mitigation a plus.

We are considering Jurisdictional Consultant I and Jurisdictional Consultant II candidates for this role. The hiring range is $61,900 to $123,300. These ranges are representative of the hiring salary for the role. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
