BASIC FUNCTION

Serve as a point of contact for Owners with units on the Chicago Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher program as well as assist with day to day functions of the Owner Services Department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Educate and communicate HCV Program information and Owner Excellence awareness to potential owners

  • Schedule and conduct Owner Excellence Program and Outreach workshops

  • Coordinate with the OEP Team in developing continuing education courses for HCV owners

  • Conduct owner briefings to educate owners on changes to the program

  • Assist the OEP Team with marketing of the Owner Excellence Program

  • Troubleshoot and filter all owner complaints via the Owner Info Line and Owner Info email

  • Represent the Chicago HCV Program at city, state, and national events and conferences

  • Attend community and alderman meetings to build and maintain strong relationships within the community

  • Actively work with the local alderman’s offices to speak at Ward meetings and provide information to the community

  • Establish and foster community partnerships

  • Assist in event planning and sponsorship activity for the Owner Symposium.

  • Prepare monthly and weekly reports

ADDITIONAL DUTIE

  • Knowledge of the Housing Choice Voucher Program requirements, policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of program operations, such as eligibility, rent determination, reexaminations, and contract administration

  • Ability to maintain information on ongoing functions and report to supervisor on a monthly basis

  • Ability to apply considerable levels of concentration frequently throughout the day

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, individually and in groups, with internal contacts, and property owners

  • Ability to effectively write letters, maintain documentation, and complete required forms

  • Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computers and peripherals

  • Must be available nights and weekends as needed

  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel with a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Four (4) year of previous experience working with the public in a Housing Choice Voucher Program or related field
