Job description

Media Services, an Entertainment Payroll Company, is seeking a full-time Payroll Coordinator with one to three years minimum payroll experience for our TV/Features Department. Must have strong customer service skills, as well as being detail oriented and willing to work as part of a team. Entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred.

Position Summary: The Payroll Coordinator is a mid-level payroll position responsible for processing medium complexity payrolls for multiple clients, maintaining client and employee records, ensuring the payroll information is collected, input, processed, balanced and verified. Accountable and responsible for all aspects of receiving and preparing information and documents from clients and employees that relates to non-union and union payrolls for the purpose of the processing/production of payroll. Responsible for resolving questions and concerns from clients.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Performs and has mastered the essential job functions of the Payroll Coordinator.

2. Union Experience a plus.

3. Can accurately break and calculate payroll in accordance with the Fair Standards Labor Act (FSLA) and/or union contracts.

4. Understanding of different classes of corporations and the company procedures for each.

5. Beginning understanding of reverse and offset adjustments.

6. Understand basic principles of workers compensation and use of various codes.

7. Beginning understanding and has a working knowledge of pension rates and proper calculations.

8. Has mastered Tax Deduction programs

9. Understands the concept of “mixed crews” and enforces rules accordingly.

10. Has a working understanding and knowledge of Chart of Accounts and how they pertain to the processing of payroll.

11. Daily documentation of client communications in CRM

12. Perform other related duties as required and assigned by the department supervisors and management

5. Ability to interact positively with co-workers and external departments.
