The successful candidate will join the IMOC II SpOC/SSC software team, responsible for developing software and integrating external software applications into the ISS on-board support computer system. As a member of our Linux team, this individual will implement requirements for new development and change requests, at the application and/or system level, including security implementations. Required experience and skills include:
-Common Linux applications, utilities, and daemons
-Managing Linux file systems, experience with fs- and disk-related tools
-Virtual machine technologies, with preference for kvm, qemu, and libvirt
-Best practices for security implementations in Linux (Samba/AD, iptables, and secure protocols)
-Extensive shell scripting experience (bash preferred), specifically experience automating system maintenance & operations
-Networking; deep understanding of configuration, management, and common tools
Additional desired experience includes:
-IT Security certification (CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, or similar)
-Apache/httpd: management, monitoring/logging, secure implementation
-Database management: PostgreSQL and MySQL preferred
-Samba (4), Linux integration with Active Directory
-Automated testing (for security and functionality) – unit to system level
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :-
Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related area and 4+ years of related experience. Successful candidates must be able to apply for and successfully receive and maintain security clearance per eligibility requirements.
