This position is responsible for establishing and servicing relationships with businesses generating sales of $500,000 to $75 million, with a focus on businesses with revenues between $3 and $35 million within a particular geographic market. The Commercial Banking Senior Client Manager is also responsible for generating net new business relationships for Opus Bank Commercial Banking Business Units, including deposits and loans. Accountable for the pricing and profitability of loans that he/she sponsors and for the quality and portfolio management of his/her portfolio.  

Responsibilities
  • Establishes pricing for loans within guidelines established at the Division and Group level; provides input regarding loan product pricing and features for loans over approval authority.
  • Responsible for adherence to all compliance programs, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules by establishing due dates.
  • Responsible for appropriately structuring credit requests for clients/prospects and jointly working with Underwriters and Credit Analysts to submit a loan package for approval
  • Responsible for delivering and enhancing organization’s competitive strategy of providing exceptional personal attention and building business relationships.

  • Gathers market intelligence so that market opportunities may be capitalized on as they occur and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the designated marketplace.
  • Ensures that client service personnel maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude achieving stated service standards.
  • Implements policies and procedures to comply with fundamental business and credit priorities of the bank.
  • Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position.
  • Mentors and coaches other Client Managers on the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Knowledge and Skills:

Market knowledge of Portland and surrounding area strongly desired

Analytical and research skills.

Excellent Bank product and service knowledge

Strong marketing and negotiation skills

Technology proficient

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Finance, Accounting, Analysis of Financial Statements and Tax Returns

 

Education and/or Experience:

A minimum of ten years of commercial lending experience

Formal credit training from a major commercial bank.

Thorough knowledge of commercial lending, sales, and financial service needs of middle market and large

corporate companies and/or specific industry designated.

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance or business-related subject
