Job description
JOB SUMMARY
This Electrician/Top Helper is responsible for performing electrical wiring duties in a commercial setting in Ocala FL. Responsibilities include: read blueprints, install conduit and cable tray, coordinate and set up large cable pulls, install switchgear, distribution panels, transformers, fire alarm and control systems, and other electrical gear, and perform other electrical duties related to general construction operations. Applicants must have 2 years experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform electrical duties with little to no supervision.
2. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit. Must be proficient bending 90s, offsets, and saddles in 1/2" through 4" EMT, GRC, and IMC.
3. Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and megger.
4. Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
5. Must possess working knowledge of operating procedures for large pipe bending equipment and wire pulling machines.
6. Read and interpret blueprints. Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment. Follow designated job specifications.
7. Perform basic motor control wiring duties.
8. Coordinate and set up large cable pulls. Pull and splice wire, knowing circuiting.
9. Lay out electrical work.
10. Install switchgear, distribution panels, transformers, fire alarm systems, trim, lamp fixtures, and other electrical equipment as needed. Wire three phase motors and transformers.
11. Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes as needed.
12. Perform trenching and excavating duties. Install underground conduit as needed.
13. Saw, drill, cut and grind as needed.
14. Clean up job site daily.
15. Perform all duties in accordance with all environmental health and safety regulations related to this position.
16. Perform all other duties as assigned.
