This fun, fast-paced energetic team provides medical and trauma services to approximately 55,000 patients annually. The patients are primarily adult with 25& being pediatric. Nurses provide the primary patient care with assistance from Emergency Room Techs. Position Description:The Emergency Department is the Adult Sexual Assault site for the City of Austin as well as having a Hyperbaric Unit, CT and Ultrasound in Dept. Department has a strong emphasis on stroke and head injuries and also cardiac patients. Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:2 for critical care patients and 1:5 for standard ED patients.Education/Experience:Required: Graduation from an NLN school of professional nursing. At least 2 years of recent experience as an RN in an Emergency Room.Preferred: Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN degree.License/Certification:Required: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas. Current certification from the American Heart Association as a BLS provider.
