We are looking for Engineering Technicians in our San Diego, CA office to join our growing team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support production of mechanical, optical, and electrical system parts and assemblies by:
    • Assisting in getting quotes for parts and assemblies
    • Ordering and receiving parts while tracking against a Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Verifying and/or inspecting parts for compliance to requirements
    • Packaging parts, preparing and managing shipments
    • Inventory management and organization
  • Assist engineers in the design, development, testing, inspection, installation, and operation of mechanical, optical and electrical components and assemblies
  • Conduct part inspections and generate inspection reports
  • Utilize appropriate tools, test equipment, and gauges for part verification and inspection
  • Assist with recording test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in products or test methods; compare test results to design specifications and test objectives
  • Operate basic fabrication equipment such as drill press, hand tools, manual lathe, etc.
  • Some operation or setup of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Perform evaluation and work with Engineering teams to complete departmental projects within budget and schedule constraints
  • Interaction with and support of customers and engineering teams
  • Contribute to the overall success and quality of Quartus services

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years Technician experience
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Proven understanding of BOMs
  • Ability to read mechanical design drawings
  • Proven hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies and lab equipment
  • Ability to work well with engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Successful candidates will be a team player and must be willing to take on new tasks and job responsibilities as they arrive
  • Candidates must be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple people and managing multiple and diverse tasks/projects
  • Candidates should be skilled at prioritizing, have very strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills and outstanding follow-though
  • Ability to stand continuously
  • Ability to bend, squat, and lift frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Must be eligible to obtain US government security clearance
  • Experience operating CMM
  • Technician experience in mechanical engineering or machine shop environment
  • Inventory management experience
