Akorbi has partnered with a leading technical company to assist them with finding qualified candidates for an Engineering Technician opportunity.  Contract role with benefits available.

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining complex tools and processes in an R&D laboratory environment. You will be expected to provide expert-level knowledge and hands-on ability with facilities, utilities, and equipment associated with inspection and microfabrication processes, subsequent materials, and methods pertaining to this. This position will be held in a cleanroom environment with a full gowning protocol, collaborating with a cross-functional team of engineers to install and troubleshoot equipment, install and modify utilities, and coordinate with building facilities. 
 

Responsibilities 
Providing on-demand response to equipment and process service requests placed by process engineers and technicians in a cleanroom environment. 
Managing service requests and coordinating with a Facilities Team and OEMs, to orchestrate maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvements on a wide range of microfabrication equipment and processes. 
Using failure­ analysis and reliability data as a feedback stream for equipment and process optimization. 
Bringing new equipment online and working with a cross-­functional engineering team to develop robust process windows for niche process applications. 

Top three daily responsibilities: 
1) Responding to on-demand requests and working with engineers to ensure quality lab operations. 
2) Repairing, modifying, and installing semiconductor and microfabrication tooling and equipment. 
3) Repairing, modifying, and installing facilities and utilities infrastructure. 

Requirements: 
BS degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work experience. 
3-4 years of experience with running, modifying, and installing utilities including gas, water, air, exhaust, electrical, vacuum, chillers, exchangers. 
3-4 years experience troubleshooting and repairing semiconductor and microfabrication equipment. 
Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills including ability to present facts clearly and concisely to coworkers at all levels and backgrounds. 

Nice to Have: 
Deep expertise and proven track record of building, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment in an R&D microfabrication setting. 
Working knowledge of microfabrication techniques, including lithography, deposition of thin films, wet and dry etching, and related inspection techniques. 
Knowledge of hybrid flex electronics and associated packaging technologies at the micrometer scale. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to communicate effectively with scientists and engineers from a wide range of technical backgrounds.
