Job description

GEICO is looking for bright, driven college seniors and graduates to join our accelerated Management Development Program in the Auto Damage adjuster track. The goal of this 1.5 - 2 year* management training program is to develop future business leaders to help us continue on our path of steady growth, profitability and success.

You will begin the program by completing an extensive 12 week training program and if successfully complete you will then work the entry level auto damage adjuster position for approximately the next 12 months.

Through our industry-leading, paid training, you'll learn the ins and outs of automobile damage to prepare you to directly assist our customers after accidents or other disasters. We'll equip you with the latest technology and all the tools you'll need to be successful. Our auto damage claims adjusters provide outstanding customer service on a daily basis by working in local drive-in locations, GEICO Auto Repair Xpress shops and the field.

As an Auto Damage Adjuster, you will:

  • Learn the ins and outs of automobile damage and insurance claims adjusting.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and efficiently handle case files.
  • Interact directly with customers while working in a local drive-in location, a GEICO Auto Repair Xpress® shop or as a field adjuster.
  • Be equipped with the latest tools and technology in auto adjusting.
  • Inspect and assess vehicle damage ranging from minor fender-benders to extensive damage caused by major accidents, hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters.
  • Estimate the cost of vehicle repairs, negotiate equitable settlements and issue payments.
  • Receive promotions based upon your performance.

Once you have mastered the entry level position you will continue working as an adjuster while you begin attending a series of supervisory preparation workshops and seminars.

After approximately 15 months you will begin a coaching rotation where the main focus will be shadowing a supervisor and running a small team. As a management trainee, you will learn all about what makes GEICO one of the largest and the fastest growing auto insurers in the U.S. You will be provided a solid foundation for leading a team of auto damage insurance adjusters, who serve as the "face of GEICO" to more than 12 million customers.
