Summary: The QC Engineer - OSP Fiber Design performs quality control reviews of Outside Plant Engineering designs. Seeking entry level candidates who are interested learning about new cutting edge Fiber technology within the telecommunications industry. Training will be provided.

Job Duties:

• Review engineering redlines to evaluate constructability, keeping in mind project scope, timelines and budget for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) projects.
• Ensure current design is the most effective and efficient plan to follow.
• Ensure designs in accordance to customer specifications and guidelines.
• Manage and enforce engineering quality and compliance with the Fiber outside plant design specification.
• Own the quality control process to produce a value-engineered design, removing all obstacles to construction.
• Utilize Google Maps.

Skills/Qualifications:

• College degree in a technical field preferred (ex. Engineering, CS etc.)
• Be skilled in multi-tasking with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve.
• Ability to meet critical due dates, work under pressure and deadline driven.
• Excellent oral /Written Communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and a desire to move up in the company.
• Intermediate - Expert Microsoft Excel Skills.
• Experience with Google Maps, Google Mymaps and GIS related software is recommended.
• Understanding of OSP Engineering concepts related to Fiber-Optic cable is a plus.
• Familiarity with utility poles regarding height of attachment, space requirements, class of pole, guying, anchors, cable re-arrangements, span lengths, and pole replacements is a plus.
