The Housekeeper II performs specialized procedures for the cleaning and maintenance of floors (both carpeted and hard surface), corridors and walls, and all waste handling (including bio-hazardous waste).  If so assigned, the Housekeeper II may also transport linens and perform general cleaning to maintain an orderly, sanitary, and attractive environment. 


Education Background 

  • None required. See the Physical Abilities section for minimum English communication level.

Special Training/Skills 

  • Requires skills in floor finish application, finish removal, carpet shampoo and extraction techniques.

Work Experience 

  • Minimum 6 months experience in floor care maintenance in an institutional setting.

Physical Abilities 

  • For the efficient delivery of services to customers, this job requires sufficient reading, writing, and verbal English-language skills to understand and be understood when interacting with customers, visitors, patients, coworkers, and management.

Physical Demand Level:  Medium

In an 8-hour workday, must be able to-

Lift / Carry

20 to 50 pounds occasionally

10 to 25 pounds frequently

up to 10 pounds constantly

As required, must be able to-

Sit, Stand, Walk, Bend, Squat, Kneel, Crawl, Climb and Reach above shoulders

Push and Pull

Perform fine motor functions

Must possess functional vision, hearing, and speech in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advocates, and staff.
