Summary: This position is responsible for acting as the lead on jobs related to replacement of major components (e.g. blades, main shaft, gearbox, generator, transformer, etc.) as well as design improvement and turbine repair campaigns. As the lead on these projects, the Advanced Maintenance Technician(s) are responsible for all technical aspects of the job, managing expectations and communicating status updates to clients, and managing subcontracted labor and crane personnel. Up to 100% travel may be required with R&R available.
In addition to the standard Advanced Maintenance Technician position, specialized positions exist for Electrical and Gearbox Specialists.
Primary Responsibilities:
- · Lead and/or support large corrective work in a safe and efficient manner according to Gamesa’s Quality standards
- · Possess a thorough technical understanding of large corrective processes and specialized tools and a strong familiarity with work instructions related to replacement and/or repair of all major components
- · Act as a direct point of contact for Gamesa Site Manager and/or Client personnel on site including managing all communication and expectations related to the progress of work
- · Properly handle and maintain equipment necessary to perform the large correctives, including inventory and tracking of parts and components required to complete the work.
- ·Track project budget through job completion and report any deviations in a timely manner
Requirements:
· High School Degree
· 1+ years’ experience in the wind industry (2+ years preferred)
· Proficient in basic computer skills – Microsoft Office
· Valid Drivers’ License
· Technical School Diploma/Program preferred
· 2-4 yrs relevant work experience in the wind industry preferred
· Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical turbine troubleshooting
