We are currently looking to fill a Maintenance Technician position at The Brooke, our property located in Atlanta, GA.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with all cleaning aspects of community. The Maintenance Technician will perform product preparation and cleaning for the apartment community.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responds to resident requests for maintenance and service by troubleshooting the source and taking appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within the quality and time standards established by the organization. Escalates problem or issue to supervisor or outside contractor as necessary.
  • Makes necessary repairs to building exteriors and common areas as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Ensures apartments are ready for occupancy by performing various and as needed electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, and other miscellaneous equipment maintenance and repairs, painting, and overall apartment cleaning and other activities as necessary or as directed.
  • Maintains the overall appearance and cleanliness of the community by ensuring that lighting, grounds, amenities, building exteriors, breezeways, curbs, signage, leasing office, central garbage areas, parking lots and other buildings and common areas are free of debris by cleaning and/or removing trash, graffiti, and other items which affect the appearance and/or operation of the community.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and ensures they are in proper working order, requests replacements as necessary, and assists in stocking inventory of parts and maintenance materials.
  • Must take on-call duties according to the policy set forth by Lyon.
  • Adhere to the company's safety program rules, attend safety meetings and perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Required Skills: 

  • 1 + years of turn and or renovation experience required
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D preferred.
  • Position requires on call duty.
  • Effective use and knowledge of various cleaning equipment, tools and products.
  • Possess an employment history that demonstrates the application and usage of mechanical maintenance and repair techniques.
  • EPA Certification and HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills necessary to resolve challenges with others and collaborate with others on the resident services team and office.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing and bending.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
