Residential Maintenance Technician – Dallas, TX

A day in the life of a Residential Maintenance Technician

The Residential Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to and repairing property issues identified by our residents throughout the branch city market. This is a full-time position. Typical work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position reports directly to the Resident Support Supervisor.

  • Review calendar each day for assigned work orders to be completed, ensure all requested repair information is gathered and all appropriate tools and supplies are available.
  • Completes all requested property maintenance within Main Street Renewal service level agreement (SLA) turn-around times
  • Communicates with the National Branch Call Center and the Occupied Property Supervisor regarding the status of open work orders and notifying if SLA agreements/ time frames noted in the company policies and procedures will not be met
  • Responsible for completing work orders assigned by the NBTenC
  • Upon completion of work order, communicate status of completion and work done with the National Branch Call Center, provide descriptions of work completed so the NBTenC may close the work order in the Tenant Management System.
  • Responsible for documenting all completed work by taking before and after photos and sending the pictures to the Tenant Customer Service inbox once work is complete.

What you’ll need to have

  • High school diploma required
  • 2-3 years prior maintenance experience; minimum of 1 year working maintenance with single or multi-family property management company
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vocational or technical school and/or applicable completed college courses preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, lock key, and general household repairs

  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some light maintenance work may be necessary at times. This role requires travel to our properties and may be physically demanding. The ability to physically perform the following duties for prolonged periods of time may be required: Unassisted lifting up to 50 pounds, Bending, Walking, Kneeling, Stretching, Able to work on step ladders or extension ladders up to 30 feet, Able to work in confined spaces, indoors and outdoors in all climates, and unclean environments with fumes, dust and poor ventilation while adhering to company safety requirements and programs, Able to perform all duties in a safe manner at all times
  • Travel is required to Main Street properties in and around the metro-area to which this position is assigned.

Company Description

Main Street Renewal LLC is a privately held company engaged in the business of acquiring U.S. single family properties and converting them to leasable homes. We improve each property and as a result will expand the supply of well-maintained and affordable housing units in a number of cities around the country. In the process, we will provide an attractive market clearing bid for sellers and by making a long term investment, increase value for other home owners, helping to stabilize and improve the surrounding neighborhoods while expanding the tax base. We strive to create efficiency throughout the process with the goal of creating constructive and professional relationships with owners of single family real estate, our tenants and the communities where the properties are located.
