Summary: Assists in the maintenance, inspection, repair and testing of equipment and machines (specifically experience with CNC machining equipment) in the plant as well as the building's operations system as a Maintenance Technician in training.

Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety. Actively participates in a safety process or project such as the safety committee, safety inspections, etc.
Essential Functions:
1. Maintains plant and building equipment through periodic inspections and cleaning as directed.
2. Assists in repairing equipment as necessary to include responding to emergency work orders.
3. Assists in reading blueprints and schematic drawings to determine repair problems.
4. Assists in fabricating equipment as required to include the associated welding, cutting and drilling activities.
5. Communicates timely progress reports on maintenance work orders. Enters time and components on maintenance work orders.
6. Assists in replacing machine parts as part of repair projects.
7. Communicates with the Maintenance Supervisor/Trainer and other personnel as required in conjunction with maintenance and/or repair projects.
8. Follows instructions/procedures as directed by Trainer.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) plus at least two years of related technical training or related job experience.
Experience and Skills Required:
1. Experience with CNC machining equipment.
2. Knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in electronic and manufacturing maintenance including reading blueprints and schematics.
3. Knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.
4. Ability to perform routine manufacturing maintenance activities.
5. Ability to operate general office equipment including maintenance related application on a microcomputer.
6. Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
