Norcom Inc, the largest manufacturer and distributor of School and Office paper products in North America, located in Griffin, GA, is looking for a Maintenance Technician.
The role of the Maintenance Technician is to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and rebuild all facility machinery and mechanical systems, fabricating, and installing machinery parts. Shows correct sense of urgency to find and fix all abnormalities and upset conditions. Is a team player and supports the plant team in focusing on continuous improvement, always looking for new ways to make equipment run better, faster, cheaper.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, adjust and repair production equipment as assigned
Repair and replace gears, drives, bearings, belts, chains, shafts, etc.
Maintain operations equipment to achieve optimal performance levels
Perform periodic maintenance routines to identify and correct mechanical defects before they fail.
Observe equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify root cause of trouble
Participate in machine changeovers
Perform scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment
Perform general repairs to plant support equipment
Operate a variety of hand/power tools to repair, grease/lubricate, weld, cut and change parts as assigned
Electrical work including PLC troubleshooting, motor controls and circuit testing
Accurately complete documentation in the work order system
Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned as needed
Physical Environment:
Lift tools, machinery parts and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds each
Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
Standing for extended periods of time
Able to work under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt
Qualifications:
Must have a High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Three (3) years’ experience within the maintenance field, preferred
Experience in electrical (480V; 3PH power), preferred
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and motor controls, preferred
The successful candidate must be willing to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, and also pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
