MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Do you love to fix things and approach technical challenges with enthusiasm and confidence? Do you take pride in doing an excellent job and in getting things right first time? Do you enjoy working as part of a team, and have a passion for helping people? If so, you'll fit right in as a maintenance technician with Sandalwood.
We are looking to hire a maintenance technician to support our maintenance supervisor to complete resident service requests. Our goal is to complete these within 24 hours, so this is a fast-paced environment that demands attention to detail, hard work and the highest levels of customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose problems, and make repairs in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance repairs
  • Patrol and report any liability situations on the community
  • Delight residents and community owners.
  • Assist in making vacant apartments ready for new resident (including painting, carpet cleaning)
  • Assist in maintaining grounds and pool
  • Perform any and all duties called upon by supervisors to ensure that property operates in an efficient and economic manner.
  • Represent Sandalwood values by dressing and acting in a professional manner at all times.
  • Carry an operative pager and be "on call" periodically.
  • Follow all safety programs implemented by Sandalwood Management, Inc. according to the company policy
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 12 months experience in apartment maintenance or construction including:
  • Painting
  • Plumbing
  • Appliances
  • Flooring/carpentry (minor)
  • Apartment Turns
  • Landscape Maintenance
  • Electrical systems (minor)
  • Pool maintenance experience
  • HVAC certification
  • Must be able to take initiative, have a positive attitude, and always be willing to get the job done
  • Have a sense of urgency with the ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Be able to handle residents' repair requests in a timely manner
  • Be committed to excellent customer service and satisfaction
  • Possess a positive professional attitude, be honest an ethical team player
  • Be able to read and write English for safety and productivity purposes
  • Own a set of hand tools.
  • Be able to lift 75 Lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

EDUCATION
  • High school education or equivalent is required
ATTENDANCE:
  • This is a full time position. Mon through Fri 8:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Requires the ability to serve on-call one week per month, or as necessary
LICENSES:
Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance is required; position requires own vehicle to fulfill all of job's functions
