IT System Administrator with ISSM (Information System Security Manager) – JR 128

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of automated software testing, data analysis, and
cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems, is seeking an IT System
Administrator with a strong security background (ISSM)
to support its Arlington, VA office.

The IT System Administrator will serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for
classified computers in IDT’s DOD and Intelligence Community computing environments. This person
will implement, manage and support the Information System needs of IDT’s Arlington office and its
VMware Enterprise-equipped classified lab.

The right candidate must have applied working knowledge of:

• VMware VSphere, VMware View
• Linux (Red Hat), Windows Server
• Active Directory, networking, system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards,
and operational security measures
• National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements—and the ability to
work with other ISSMs to fully implement and maintain systems per NISPOM standards
• COMSEC (Communications Security)--experience and training a plus.
• ISSM/CISSP—certification, training, and/or experience

Security responsibilities include:

• Maintain Information Systems (IS) security program and policies for assigned area of
responsibility
• Oversee operational IS security implementation policy and guidelines
• Ensure approved procedures are used for sanitizing and releasing system components and media
• Assist with the development and implementation of an effective IS security education, training,
and awareness program
• Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security
safeguards, and operational security measures
• Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and the contractor’s Insider Threat Program Senior
Official (ITPSO) in addressing insider threat awareness within the company’s IS programs


Network Systems Administrator/Engineering responsibilities include:

• Implement user additions, deletions, and changes in Microsoft Active Directory on Innovative
Defense Technologies (IDT) high-side
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory design and testing on the IDT Arlington high-side
• Apply monthly patching and virus definition updating on the IDT Arlington high-side (may require
off-hours or weekend time to be rotated between other IDT ISSM’s)

• Harden Red Hat Linux and Microsoft OS Systems to ensure they meet DSS and/or DISA standards as
needed
• Prepare for annual DSS inspections
• Assist with, and/or perform, break fix resolutions when needed

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of:

• an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or relative, proven, working
knowledge equivalent)
• 5 years’ experience, preferably in a security position
• CISSP certification

All applicants must be U.S. citizens and possess an active DOD security clearance.

This role is located in IDT’s Arlington, VA office. Up to 10% travel may be required.
