Job Description
The Technical Manager will:
- Undertake research on emerging trends related to business, management and financial accounting, such as technology, information needs beyond financial information (Integrated Reporting), corporate governance, performance and risk management
- Communicate relevant findings on the above trends and issues and how they will impact business needs and the finance function through presentations, reports, and articles for the Global Knowledge Gateway
- Develop new or revise publications and coordinate their production, distribution, and promotion
- Work with the Communications department to generate ideas, articles, and press releases to communicate Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) activities and issues
- Build and maintain relationships with member organizations, international standard-setters, regional and international organizations, and other organizations that support the work of PAIBs
- Prepare relevant presentations for committee members, leadership and staff
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments to facilitate inclusion of and support for PAIB issues across other organization activities
- Prepare high quality materials on technical topics and emerging issues to support the discussions of the PAIB Committee, as well as meeting summaries and meeting minutes
Required Skills- 5+ years of experience in a Finance or Accounting function, Professional Practice, Professional Accountancy Organization, or Public Sector Organization
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of Business, Management Accounting and Corporate Reporting
- Previous experience with GAAP, GAAS, and IFRS
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
- Computer savvy
- Microsoft Office/Suite proficient (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
