Job description

Block Institute provides quality residential care in family-like settings to individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities. Our goal is to provide unique and individualized services that assist each person in achieving greater independence and integration within the community. Residential opportunities are available within Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF), Community Residences (CR), Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA), and Supportive Living Apartments (SLA).

Must possess current CPR, SCIP-R and AMAP (medication administration) certifications .

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the Individuals we serve.

Correctly follow goal/outcome methodologies as written; in order to teach daily living skills to the Individuals we serve.

Must attend to all necessary daily needs of the Individuals we serve, including, but not limited to: personal hygiene, medical concerns, socialization needs, cognitive skills training, some limited financial transactions, etc.

Must attend staff meetings weekly.

Must work to keep the living environment of the Individuals we serve clean and home-like.

Must attend meeting and appointments related to the Individuals we serve and give/receive accurate information and pass this information on to all necessary parties.

Evening and weekend shifts available; Family benefits for full time Direct Support Professional staff;
