Mission:
This position is responsible for Operates polishing equipment to obtain desired polish and luster on parts and products. Selects wheels, dressings and abrasives best suited for type of job. Applies and manipulates work exercising proper pressure and duration to polish, glaze and buff using care to maintain contour, relationship and dimensions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power
• Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools when needed.
• Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure polishing standards are met.
• Move controls to adjust, start, or stop equipment during polishing processes.
• Remove completed work pieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place work pieces in drywall carts.
• Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions.
• Mark defects for possible rework.
• Record product and processing data on specified forms when needed.
• Assist in minor repair and maintain equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools.
• Change polishing wheel when needed.
• Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.
Others:
• Must be able to properly use quality gages when needed
• Must be able to spot defects on work; close visual inspection required
• Good problem solving skills
Physical Activity Required on the Job:
• Frequently this position will require lifting up to minimum of 10 lbs, and the maximum lifting up 150 lbs.
• Frequently this position will require carrying up a mínimum to 10 lbs. And máximum 200 lbs.
Physical Movements:
• Continually this position will require standing, walking, using hand/fingers to handele, reach with hands/arms.
