Our Business Development Managers are the ambassadors for STRATASYS 3D Printing products and services to customers who want to benefit from the best Additive Manufacturing applications. Our Outside Sales Team is made of high performance, high integrity players that bring their knowledge and energy to a partnership with a growing customer base.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The BDM-3D Printing sells Stratasys 3D Printing Solutions to new and existing GSC customers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Prospecting:

  • Researches possible new customers using different methods, such as internet research, trade publications, joining trade associations, subscription to user groups, trade shows, conferences, social media, etc.
  • Routinely performs cold calls to identified potential customers, in order to find key decision makers and business’ 3D Printing possible needs
  • Sets up appointments with prospective customers for initial visit
  • Manages territory and prospecting in a strategic way, (by location, manufacturing sector, business size, etc.). Travels within GSC territory as needed.

Sales generation and closing

  • Uses industry knowledge and leverages competitive advantage of additive manufacturing to identify the right opportunities to sell 3D Printers
  • Performs between 100 – 120 contacts per month. Schedules 5-10 visits per week
  • Delivers presentations to engineers and C-level executives. Teaches “3D Printing Essentials” class
  • Prepares quotations, negotiates prices. Meets or exceeds quarterly sales goals consistently
  • Sales expectations are approximately 70% new customers, 30% existing customers
  • Maintains a good working relationship with existing installed base of customers and promotes upgrades to their systems
  • Targets Fortune 1000 companies
  • Develops monthly sales forecast. Consistently documents customer interactions in CRM system
  • Develops a strong knowledge of different manufacturing processes and 3D Printing applications
  • Keeps up to date knowledge about Stratasys solutions
  • Keeps informed about general 3D Printing market and competitors

Relationship development

  • Develops strong quality relationships with customers through a consultative, solution sales approach that leads to continuous business interactions.
  • Becomes a key partner for customers by gaining solid understanding of their product and process, providing customized effective and efficient solutions to improve their design/prototyping/ production process
  • Provides services with integrity and work ethic focusing on problem solving and process improvement

  • Ability to learn and understand additive manufacturing: 3D Printer’s different technologies and applications, materials and capabilities.

  • Experience with sales process and CRM documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2- 3 years of sales experience with capital equipment, machine tools, robotics, or other high tech equipment
  • Manufacturing design and production process knowledge preferred
  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred
