My name is Randy Noe. I am an Executive Recruiter on contract with a large national lobbying organization, The National Federation of Independent Business (www.nfib.com), to assist them with their outside sales hiring needs. NFIB is the largest and most powerful lobbying organization for small business owners in the country and employs an outside sales team of 400 senior sales representatives. THE OPPORTUNITY

I have one position open for a business-to-business sales representative. This is an outside sales position, engaging prospects and existing customers daily in an established local territory with no overnight travel. The compensation structure rewards those who follow a proven approach that the company has refined during its distinguished 65+ year history. Initially, you will work closely with a seasoned sales professional who comes to your territory for several days during the initial training period. You will be provided with a list of target companies to call on, along with a roster of existing members who are a source of renewal income and referrals. Territory reps can expect to earn $50K-$70K (base of $ 31,200), with 6-figure incomes realistic within 1-2 years.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

The right candidate is someone who believes in the NFIB Mission, thrives on freedom, has a history of effort and commitment, and with the right foundation (training/mentoring, great benefits, ongoing support) feel that they can successfully sell the benefits of NFIB membership. NFIB representatives earn a terrific income based on a base salary, commissions, bonuses, and renewals, while enjoying a high degree of independence. They don’t commute to an office or sit in weekly sales meetings. They work regular business hours (no evenings or weekends) calling on business owners and growing membership within an exclusive territory. Successful candidates have an ability to engage prospects and build rapport quickly; they find the short sales cycle (1-to-2 calls) appealing. They meet NFIB’s safe driving standards: no more than three moving violations or a DUI in the past three years.
