Job Purpose:
To build and maintain long lasting and trustworthy relationships with the customers and future customers of Presto Maintenance Supply in a specific zip coded territory of Houston by helping the customer select the best products for their needs and to resolve any problems or complaints. Goal is to achieve maximum sales profitability and growth within a given territory.
General Job Expectations:
- Promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Demonstrate products and services to existing and potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
Specific Job Expectations:
- Make sales calls and presentations to existing and potential customers (95% in-person calls, 5% phone calls)
- Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential
- Work with Marketing and Customer Service to develop clear and effective written proposals or quotations for current and prospective customers
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
- Analyze the territory/market’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization.
- Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on time investment for the territory.
- Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services.
- Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas
- Participate in tradeshows and other events with the Houston Apartment Association
Skills/Qualifications:
Must possess a college degree or experience equivalent to a minimum of two years in outside sales. Experience in the apartment industry or maintenance supplies is not necessary, but is certainly a positive. Demonstrates ability to problem solve and determine solutions for customers. Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak in English and Spanish is a benefit to this position, but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $30k to $35k Starting Base Salary + Commission (unlimited)
