This position is full - time (40 hours / week) open 7 days a week. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (5:00 AM - 10:00 PM). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:
Process member prior authorizations through various computer systems ensuring the accuracy of all data and updating as necessary                                                                                Navigate across multiple computer systems to respond to questions or to provide specific medication details / clinical informationReceive incoming calls from members or providers; conduct outgoing calls as needed to provide follow - up or consultation such as prior authorization requirements, appeals, etc.                                  Apply benefit plan criteria in making decisions (approvals / denials) or recommendations; clarify and explain pharmaceutical benefits and procedures                                                                               Process, pack or ship pharmacy orders to include the counting and dispensing of medications, accurate labeling and packing in appropriate manner for shipment within the required time framesEducate members / guardians, providers, pharmacies) staff on procedures to avoid compliance risk.Partner with others to gather additional information and / or to interpret clinical guidelines; act as a resource for othersMonitoring of compliance for Prior Authorization and Appeals cases

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GEDCurrent, in good standing, State Pharmacy Technician license or National Pharmacy Technician Certification1+ years of experience providing customer service and working with healthcare professionalsProficient Microsoft Word and Excel skills (basic documents / spreadsheet creation with ability to navigate the application); general PC / computer proficiency with ability to learn new systems quickly and efficientlyAbility to work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation including the training period, where lunches and breaks are scheduled, with the flexibility to adjust daily schedule, and work over - time and / or weekends, as neededAll new hires will be required to successfully complete Pharmacy Operations training classes and demonstrate proficiency of the material 
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Soft Skills:
Ability to identify problems including complex issues and determine solutions, both independently or in a team / group settingCommunication skills including the ability to consult / advise, demonstrate empathy, and provide clear instructions or directions
