Schematic Project Manager /Planner

The Schematic Design Engineer/Planner plans, designs, manages, and directs transportation engineering projects. As a Registered Professional Engineer, performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil engineering to transportation projects.

Position Duties:

  • Projects will include schematic development; urban and rural roadway design; freeway and interchange design; hydraulics and hydrology; signalization; rights of way coordination and management; and public safety

  • Preliminary and final design for highways, roadways (state & local), highway interchanges, transit light rail utility research, and drainage design

  • Lead project teams to accomplish task assignments related to schematic design for highway projects in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil or transportation engineering from an ABET accredited college or university

  • PE License in Texas

  • Experience with Complex Highway Design required
  • Design for TxDOT or other Agencies required
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience performing engineering duties similar with 4 or more of those years managing projects in roadway schematic design
  • Toll Road experience is a plus
  • Expertise with engineering software, programs and methods used for duties described above.
  • Ability to technically develop members of project team
