As an MDS Nurse at our center, you will be responsible for the completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument process.
Job responsibilities include:
- Complete the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and monitor compliance of state and federal rules and regulations related to RAI.
- Refer findings of inaccurate, untimely, or incomplete documentation to the RAI Coordinator or Director of Nursing and follow through to ensure timely compliance.
- Input information related to the RAI process into the electronic record keeping system.
- Assure that care plan dates are scheduled according to regulated guidelines.
- Perform the regular duties of an RN, as needed; may be required to work as a nurse supervisor on the weekend and/or on call.
- Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of changes related to long term care issues.
To be successful in this position requires:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, or higher, with 3+ years of related experience.
- Current RN State of Michigan License; current CPR certification.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English and able to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and all facility personnel.
- Advanced computer skills; experience with electronic charting desired.
- Critical thinking skills, sound judgement and decision making skills, strong organizational and follow-up skills; attention to detail.
- Able to work independently to accomplish all tasks necessary for the completion of the RAI.
- Ability to manage stress due to time constraints, responsibilities, emergencies, and interpersonal job demands.
- Ability to concentrate in performing detailed and technical resident care and management tasks.
