Voted "best steakhouse" in downtown Los Angeles, Nick & Stef's known for exceptional dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood and delicious signature side dishes is set to undergo a remodel, this summer! Plans will render a completely new chic setting, including a stunning outdoor terrace and a dry-aging room sure to be the restaurant’s main attraction! THE OPPORTUNITY:

Restaurant Manager

An opportunity exists for a guest service fanatic, with previous steakhouse experience to join our team for the re-opening of Nick & Stef’s in late September, 2015. We offer great opportunities to build and grow your career while maintaining friendly and enjoyable work environments.

THE TASKS & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Manage the restaurant to meet or exceed standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness

  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to keep employees current on all events/promotions, menu item changes

  • Ensure exceptionally high standards of service are consistently upheld within the restaurant

  • Continuously motivate and develop employees to keep up morale and service standards

  • Assess and resolve employee and/or departmental issues as they arise.

  • Be able to prioritize and organize as needed, making guest service and food quality top priorities

  • Gain a comprehensive, up-to-date understanding of all menu information for the restaurant

  • Ability to input and access information in management systems/computers

  • Must be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using sound judgment

  • Create positive guest experiences by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff engage guests to understand

  • their needs and exceed expectations

  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and company policies

  • Ensure that assigned staffs have reported to work; document any late or absent employees

Desired Skills and Experience

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years as a Restaurant Manager in a full-service, upscale, high volume restaurant

  • Previous experience working within an upscale steakhouse is highly preferred

  • Food Safety Manager certification required

  • Culinary or Hospitality degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Able to work a min. of 55 hours per week, including weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to anticipate opportunities for improvement and act accordingly

  • Must be a self-starter

  • Impeccable service standards and attention to detail

  • Professional, polished appearance with the ability to interact with all types of guests

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Must have good administrative and computer skills

  • Food safety certificate
