Purpose:

Retail Sales Associates are important ambassadors of the Burlington brand, at the front lines in our mission to provide world-class service to our customers. You’ll be responsible for greeting and assisting customers, maintaining a neat, organized and clean sales floor, and supporting the management team with day-to-day store operations. Retail Sales Associates may be assigned to work in any or all of the following departments: Ladies, Men, Youth, Sportswear, Shoes, Home, or Baby Depot.

Responsibilities:

Assisting customers in locating merchandise when needed
Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
Assisting in ringing up sales at registers and/or bagging merchandise
Performing other tasks as assigned by manager from time-to-time

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Ability to influence key decision makers and create competitive breakthrough strategies and plans
Must be knowledgeable of the consumer products industry, retail market trends and new developments made by competitors
Must possess strong analytical skills to assess data, facts, and figures used to develop strategies designed to improve the business and see hidden problems
Must possess strong leadership and coaching skills, and the ability to capitalize on and apply these skills, resulting in the growth and development of employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism as well as leadership
Ability to think strategically, define business opportunities and problems, collect, interpret and analyze abstract and concrete information, and create strategic, value-add solutions
Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to work force
Ability to exercise sound judgment and effective decision making skills
Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Must have strong communication skills (verbal & written), including strong relationship building skills
Must be proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors in Business, Retail Management or related field
7+ years retail regional/district management experience
Must have previous experience directing multi-million dollar sales volumes in a multi-site environment, with proven success in maximizing sales, gross margin and inventory turns
Extensive experience in retail operations, merchandising, people management in a multi-unit big box retail environment
Travel required – to all markets within the region
