Universal Air Filter (“UAF”), Environmental Air Division of Filtration Group, is a designer and manufacturer of highly engineered filtration products, EMI shielding vent panels, and other complementary products, used for mission-critical equipment protection in electronics cooling applications.  Based in metropolitan St. Louis, MO with sales offices in Taiwan, China, and Europe, UAF is attempting to further enhance our global presence by hiring a qualified and experienced candidate to join our world class organization as OEM Sales Manager.  This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Fortune 500 industry leaders located in Central North America., involved in the design and development of high-end electronics and advanced industrial equipment.

Overview:

Universal Air Filter (“UAF”) is seeking a senior OEM Sales Manager who will have full accountability for the company’s OEM business development, sales, and account management activities. Markets and industries served include telecommunications, medical, computer networking, power generation, and industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with industrial / electronics sales experience, have a high degree of mechanical aptitude, and embrace a solution-oriented approach to solving problems and delivering growth. The OEM Sales Manager will reach sales targets through effective management of a designated territory and physical visits to customer locations. This individual will grow profitable relationships with existing key customer accounts while adding new accounts through aggressive prospecting and networking activities.  Preferred location Chicago, IL metro area. Territory: Central North America – US & central Canada. US States include: Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and the Dakotas.  

Responsibilities:

 

New Business Development:

·        Build and foster relationships with potential customers and build contact networks within Engineering, Purchasing and Product Management organizations

·        Prospect for new business and create demand for UAF technical product offerings

·        Identify and generate leads on new design opportunities

·        Develop and penetrate strategic target accounts

·        Manage information relevant to forecasting.  Develop volume / sales forecasts and pipeline for new business opportunities

·        Partner with inside sales, engineering and quoting group to capture share in a growing market

Account Management:

·        Manage strategic key account OEM customers. Service existing customer base through product application support

·        Partner with OEM third parties including Contract Manufacturers in order to own the entire customer / supplier relationship

·        Thoroughly track project opportunities and establish a winning strategy for receiving project awards

·        Ensure timely follow-up with all quotations and leads

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

·        BS degree in business or engineering (mechanical/electrical)

·        Strong track record of developing a sales strategy and executing on business development programs that deliver growth and exceed budget.

·        Highly motivated individual with experience in identifying new opportunities, prospecting and generating sales growth with industrial / electronics OEMs, outsourced design firms, and contract manufacturers

·        Demonstrated ability to harvest new customers while retaining and increasing share with existing accounts

·        Experience supporting first fit product development in a business-to-business environment

·        Strong knowledge of technical sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques

·        Highly organized, detail oriented individual

·        Proficient experience with SalesForce.com or other top rated CRM platforms

·        Documented success in penetrating global electrical/electronic OEMs and industrial procurement accounts

·        Work experience with air filtration, mechanical design, thermal management (cooling), and electro-mechanical products is a plus, but not a requirement

·        Required to work closely with in-house marketing personnel to leverage outbound messaging, online advertising and e-commerce offerings in order to drive higher visitor engagement and conversion through uaf.com.

·        Minimum 7 years B2B technical sales experience

 

Compensation / Benefits:

·        Salary + commission (salary commensurate with experience & location)

·        Preferred location: Chicago IL and/or surrounding area

·        Based in home office or shared office environment depending on location

·        Position requires extensive travel throughout the assigned territory.
