POSITION SUMMARY:

Essential Functions:

  • Follow up on new leads and referrals for services; identify sales prospects and make contact with potential customer

  • Responsible for outside business-to-business sales in assigned territory or industry to existing and new clients

  • Evaluate customers’ needs and build productive long lasting relationships

  • Write sales contracts for approved services and route to appropriate customer personnel

  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals and sales contracts

  • Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships

  • Act as a liaison between internal personnel and customer’s representatives

  • Manage services performed through quality checks and other follow up measures to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Identify and resolve client concerns

  • Prepare status reports for new and existing client business

  • Work with management in coordinating company staff to complete work as outlined

  • May train and act as a mentor to other sales representatives

  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows and industry forum events

  • Provide historical records by keeping records on customer inquiries and sales

  • Perform any other job related instructions, as requested with reasonable accommodation

Working Environment:

  • General office environment; required to use office equipment (personal computer, telephone/smartphone, photocopier); required to sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Travel to meet with customers, conduct sales presentations; exposure to inclement weather conditions depending on time of year
  • Travel by motor vehicle and/or airplane to complete job requirements; overnight travel may be required
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science in business administration, sales, communication or related field or equivalent work experience is required

Experience:

  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience of outside sales experience is required
  • Previous commercial industry sales experience is preferred
  • Previous technology solution sales experience preferred
  • Use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution experience a plus

License / Certification:

  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence with acceptable driving record is required
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Highly self-motivated and driven

  • Ability to read, write, create and deliver presentations to organization’s customers – may have to present to a large group of people and/or executive team members

  • Ability to persuade and influence others

  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Visibility of position requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public

  • Knowledge of information technology a plus

Location:

  • Dayton, OH - preferable to relocate to this area
  • Remote location is possible but Dayton, OH relocation is the first preference
