Security Guard

Security General Purpose: Reduce the possibility of theft, vandalism, unauthorized access and other crimes against property and persons; be alert for fire, safety and security hazards; enforce property rules and keep management advised of all unusual activities which might occur during the day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for inspecting security station, reviewing official reports and logs and for conducting surveys of security interests and facilities.

• Verify GLOCK Inc. employee’s identification badges when entering property.

• Verify manifest on all truck deliveries and maintain log of vehicles. Advise the shipping and receiving departments of deliveries, by intercom located at gate and/or by 2-way radio.

• Maintain gate opening and closing schedule at all times. Log-in visitors with appointments and provide visitors badge. Visitor badge is to be retrieved when visitor leaves property. Notify appropriate personnel that visitor(s) has arrived.

• Verify and log-in trainees during firearms training class.  Issue visitor badges and manage parking.

• Responsible for assessing and reporting any irregularities such as fire hazards, malfunctioning lights and other problems which adversely affect safety and welfare of employees and visitors.

• Prepare incident reports after any accident, personnel or emergency incident

• Calling 911 during emergency if needed

• Proficiency with GLOCK handguns, Carrying and wearing loaded firearms and equipment throughout each day.

• Understanding and demonstrating safe carrying and handling of GLOCK handguns, completing proper use of force training pursuant to current state law

• Demonstrated leadership skills, effective written and oral communication skills and knowledge of security practices and ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

• Demonstrated competency in safe firearms handling, Ability to carry/wear firearm and equipment on a daily basis.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Seeking a professional security guard that is reliable and responsible. Who can conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

• Exhibit good judgment, moral integrity, character, and loyalty.

   

  Education and/or Experience:

  Two year college equivalency from an accredited college/university; or combination of academic training and/or experience is preferred.

  Prior military or law enforcement is preferred.

   

  License and Certifications:

  Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License. Must have the ability to obtain or currently have a Georgia weapons carry licenses.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk; and hear.  The employee may occasionally run, lift and/or move an average weight of 40 pounds.  The employee is required to daily carry/wear belt, holster, magazine pouches and loaded firearm.  Must remain alert during lengthy idle periods.

  Work Environment:

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to all weather conditions. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
