Position Summary:
Salary Range: $49,000 - 57,000 (Based on relevant experience and licensure)
The primary responsibility of the Emergency Stabilization Services (ESS) Team Leader is to provide administrative supervision and leadership to the ESS staff on assigned shift for all components of the ESS services. Assigns and delegates tasks to all ESS staff to insure quality and timely response to client need and efficiency of staff resources. Provides crisis intervention and stabilization services for clients. Manages daily affairs for the team.
Minimum Qualifications for Position:
Must have at least RN, LISW, or LPCC along with a minimum of three years’ experience in mental health field and crisis intervention are preferred. Some supervisory experience required. Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office. The necessity for travel in this job requires that the employee possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with less than 6 points in a 36-month period, have proof of adequate personal automobile insurance, and use of a personal vehicle. Favorable references and/or evaluations are required.
Essential Duties:
Assigns work tasks to clinical staff working in all ESS program areas including HUB services and residential stabilization.
Supervises and evaluates the job performance of the ESS clinical staff in conjunction with ESS clinical supervisor and client service coordinator. Provides 1-1 and group supervision to supervisees on shift.
Provides direct services to clients in all program areas of ESS including transportation.
Make decisions on staffing levels on each shift based on safety and clinical need. Approves all leave time of clinical staff.
Ensures ESS is responsive and sensitive to community requests for service 24 hours per day.
Ensures that the clinical practice of staff assigned to the unit provide a balance between safety and least restrictive alternative in a residential environment (e.g. that clients are self-medicating; acute clients are hospitalized, etc.)
Trains staff on an ongoing basis. Orients new staff to the ESS program.
Responds to and attempts to resolve, in a timely fashion, complaints made by clients, families, or by other service systems and brings these issues to the attention of the clinical supervisor.
Keeps staff informed of all policy changes and new program expectations. Participates in supervisory/management meetings.
Shares the 24 hour shift coverage with the other team leaders to ensure that a team leader is on duty at all times at ESS. Starts and ends shift with the team as much as possible to ensure supervisory coverage is continuous.
Works on-call as supervisory back-up as assigned by the client service coordinator.
Consults and works with ESS clinical supervisor; client service coordinator on clinical issues and administrative risk management issues.
For nurses provides back-up nursing coverage for residential unit and/or HUB.
Provide supervision to ESS nurses in nursing duties and compliance of medication room procedures.
Must be able to react to change and stress productively and to handle other related tasks as assigned.

Must be able to get along with others and work as a team, show leadership and problem solving skills and facilitate teamwork.
