Software Engineer/Opensource Developer

• Looking for a candidate that is very strong in building web apps or websites - will be doing customizations and client reports
• Helpful to have relational database experience with MySQL
• They are an open source account- open to any open source development tool. 
• PHP and JavaScript are used most often
• Full stack development - need to understand each step of the life cycle

Soft Skills:

• Need to have some kind of a personality
• Needs to be comfortable speaking in front of people at the office as well as with customers
• Travel is preferred - won't be turned away if they don't want to travel as long as they are strong everywhere else. They would be traveling for implementation purposes or for conferences. 
• The most travel would be every other month (mostly in the US)
• Looking for people who do large scale but will revert back to small scale as they go between projects 

Things that are important to us:

• Strong understanding of modern software design practices
• Strong foundation of relational database practices
• Ability to write organized, legible, efficient software
• CSS3 Javascript
• HTML5
• Comfortable around a command line in a Linux flavored environment
• Understanding of web and network security
• Ability to work well and communicate with a growing team of diverse roles
• Eagerness to learn and willingness to take initiative to solve problems

Things that get us excited:

• History of contributing to open source software
• Ability to demonstrate professional expertise with writing, blog posts, talks, or other public work
• Professional experience developing software for the web at scale
• Pragmatic machine learning experience
• Having an affinity for bullet-point lists
