Opening: Warehouse Specialist – San Diego, CA & Ventura (Port Hueneme), CA

Hours: Monday - Friday             Pay: T B D              Benefits:  Direct Deposit; Medical, Dental, Vision

Job Summary: Human Potential Consultants is looking for a Warehouse Specialist who will be responsible to perform full range of duties in the receipt, stow and issue of material. Ensure items being stowed meet all requirements.  Receiving/Issuing material, Loading/Unloading trucks, Processing/Issuing receipts, assisting with inventories, assisting with maintaining shop stores inventory, and performing general shop store cleanup. Performing a variety of warehousing duties which requires an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Shall pick up, receive, screen, verify and, sort material in warehouse locations and designated areas.

·         Maintain a daily log of materials stowed and issued

·         Assist the Supervisor in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees.

·          Perform evaluations and assist the supervisor in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintain records.

·          May be temporarily called upon to act on behalf of a supervisor in cases of emergency or absence.

·          Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material per DLA regulations. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques.

·          Must be able to conduct inventory/causative research, read supply manuals, specifications, drawings, and prints.

·          Load material on and off skids, pallets, warehouse, ships, and stands.

·          Conduct Shelf-Life and COSIS actions as necessary and conduct material coordination duties for special programs as required.

·          Prepare labels as required.

·          Prepare reports as required.

·          Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties.

·          Receive data from and input data to DSS and other automated supply systems in performance of duties.

·          Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and hold appropriate license.

·          Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels.

·          Make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment.

·          Perform all other duties as assigned.

·          Assist the Supervisor in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees.

·          Perform evaluations and assist the supervisor in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintain records.

·         Shall on a daily basis, sweep and take trash to designated dumpsters, keep aisles free of materials.

·         Maintain warehouse cleanness

·         Will be required to travel between San Diego & Ventura.

Minimum Requirements: 

·         Must have the expertise in requisitioning procedures, MILSTRIP, FIAR compliance, warehouse operations, HAZMAT, storage on load/offload, shipping and transportation procedures.

·         Must have broad knowledge of NAVSUP policies, procedures and directives with 5-year minimum experience in the area of inventory, warehousing, receiving and stowing.

·         Shall have knowledge in Relation Supply (RSUPPLY) and Microsoft Office Professional applications including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.

·         Require basic knowledge in the use of Material Handling Equipment such as Pallet Jacks, Hand-trucks and up to 6000 pound forklifts (Forklift drivers must possess a valid state driver’s license and valid OSHA approved forklift license /certificate)

·         Must be a U.S. Citizen.
